Sometimes, to activate Windows or Microsoft Office, you need to disable Windows Defender for a while. This is necessary so that the antivirus does not interfere with the activation process. To do this, you need to understand how to do it. In this short tutorial, I will give instructions on how to temporarily disable Windows Defender before launching KMSAuto Or KMSpico.
If Windows Defender is not installed on your PC, then you can download this program from the official Microsoft website.

Opening Windows Defender:
- Click on the Start button (bottom left).
- Enter “Windows Security” in the search and open the program.
- Looking for protection from viruses:
- Select Protection against viruses and threats from the menu.
- Disable protection:
- Click Manage settings under the heading “Virus and Threat protection settings”.
- Turn off the switches for the options:
- Real-time protection
- Protection against counterfeiting (if available).
- Windows Defender will now temporarily stop checking files. It will turn on automatically after 15 minutes.

How to add a ZIP file or folder to exceptions
Method 1: Through Windows Defender Settings
- Opening the exception settings:
- In the Virus and Threat Protection menu, click Manage settings.
- Scroll down to the Exceptions section and click Add or Remove Exceptions.
- Add a file or folder:
- Click Add Exception, select the type:
- File (if it is a ZIP archive).
- Folder (if it is a whole folder).
- Specify the path to the file or folder on your computer.
- This method is only available using third-party settings if you have additional programs installed to manage Windows Defender.
Method 3: Via the command line (for advanced users)
- Open the Command Prompt as an administrator:
- Click Start, type “cmd”, right-click and select Run as Administrator.
- Enter the command:
cmd powershell Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "C:\path\to\your\folder
Replace the
‘C:\path\to\your\folder’ to the actual path to the file or folder.
A note
Why is this necessary? Sometimes antivirus mistakenly considers secure files to be malicious. This is especially useful for programs that you have downloaded from a trusted source. Be careful! Never disable protection or add files to exceptions if you are not sure that the file is safe.
